Andrew Harvey is a clairvoyant psychic, even though he would probably refute that nominative. A handsome man, born in India and educated at Oxford, Andrew is a gay author, religious scholar and mystic, Author of over thirty books, including “The Hope”, “A Guide to Sacred Activism”, “The Way of the Passion” and “The Return of the Mother” he is determined to awaken humanity!
Andrew has been featured in a documentary, “The Making of the Modern Mystic” and has been listed as one of the 100 most spiritually influential people on this planet. However prior to becoming the great spiritual leader he is today, Andrew had to face up to the tribulations of a shocking spiritual challenge when his mentor, the adored Mother Meera, his ultimate soul teacher, told him to give up on men.
Mother Meera was born in Andhra Pradesh, India, and experienced Samadhi at six years old. This “illumination” was recognized by her Uncle, Bulgur Venkat Reddy, who perceived her as the incarnation of the Divine Mother on earth. Reddy nurtured her spirituality, and in 1981 the two of them, plus Reddy’s wife, came to Germany where Mother Meera would settle down, and Reddy would ultimately die.
Her fame spread across the globe, people from far and wide came to receive her blessings. Mother Meera said nothing, she just looked into people’s eyes, and called down sublime light that she described as “Like electricity, the Light is everywhere, but one must know how to activate it. I have come for that.”
Whilst Mother Meera was processing divine light, Andrew had become disillusioned with his intellectual lifestyle at university, and wanted to dedicate himself to a spiritual path. He began a long journey, one that challenged him on all levels. Whilst in India, Andrew met Mother Meera, who then became his spiritual teacher, and adored guru. He wrote about his extreme spiritual experiences with her in his famous “Hidden Journey”, but this enlightenment was soon followed by his tragic book “The Sun at Midnight”, in which he recounted his heartbreaking fall from grace.
Andrew had always been a passionate soul seeker; he had been awestruck by divine love for Mother Meera, who was then.”A silent and serene eighteen-year-old and I was twenty seven.” He subsequently dedicated his life to building up the Mother Meera Ashram in Germany and enjoyed both her blessings and presence. But things changed when he fell madly in love with a man called Eryk.
Andrew had never denied his love for men, so when Mother Meera told him he could either become celibate or get married to a woman his heart shattered. He could not accept this “command”, and wrote about his resulting inner conflict in “The Sun at Midnight”. At first he thought Mother Meera was testing him, but then things got ugly when Andrew refused to give in to his beloved guru, and found himself hounded by her followers. Andrew claimed Mother Meera persecuted him with curses and witchcraft, and that he and Eryk were plagued by terrible nightmares. Eryk, whose cancer had been in remission suddenly succumbed to the illness again. Hate calls from angry Mother Meera followers continued to persecute Andrew who fell into profound spiritual and psychological angst.
The consequences took time to overcome. But now Andrew has “raised up” and he is an evolved mystic whose writings and spiritual perceptions are enriching the world. Perhaps his Mother Meera trial was a “blessing in disguise”. Perhaps his natural clairvoyant psychic gifts opened him out to the intensity of that divine experience, and the result is Andrew’s current focus on Sacred Activism. He describes his intentions as “the product of the union of a profound spiritual and mystical knowledge, understanding, and compassion, peace and energy, with focused, wise, radical action in the world.”
Perhaps when a soul is determined to win through, no moral judgment, limited perception or prejudice can stop their evolution. Perhaps, Mother Meera was indeed testing him, perhaps she wanted him to access the deepest of loves, a love for God and for himself, no matter the appearances. Andrew would indeed experience Divine Grace, and it changed him and his work, transforming it into his now renowned spiritual activism. Being a clairvoyant psychic he overcame his blockages, and let go, moving on from despair to divine grace. Since the incident, Andrew has never stopped evolving! And Mother Meera has never stopped giving her blessings!
